Following the Tasmanian election the Coalition decides to re-name itself as the Queensland Party, leaving the rest of Australia to Jacqui Lambie. Opinion polls show we don’t like anybody who belongs to a political party. Government to legislate to protect the rights of trigender teachers in Hare Krishna schools. Women demonstrate to support the right of the Melbourne Club to remain all male. Labor and the Coalition unite to limit donations to independent candidates to the proceeds of chook raffles.
Economics
The Reserve Bank prepares a public apology after inflation comes in at a dangerously low level. Unemployment – the numbers and the theory around that horrible word NAIRU. Must we scare the wits out of people to convince them that climate change is serious? If we could save more we wouldn’t have to waste money on insurance. International survey confirms that rich old Australians are very happy because poorer young Australians are supporting their lifestyles.
