The prime minister’s wardrobe

It’s reassuring to learn that our opposition leader is so mindful of the prime minister’s attire.
Roundup readers who have had long experience as diplomats representing Australia see no difficulty in the prime minister wearing a T-shirt during his travels, but they do wonder if the term “Joy Division” may be misunderstood. After all, not everyone is familiar with the rock music culture of one of Europe’s minor offshore islands.
So they have suggested something more appropriate and inspiring for a prime minister who hails from the world’s oldest labour party and who has taken pleasure in fighting Tories.
On another matter, last week I included links to three train songs. I have been justly admonished by a reader for overlooking Steve Reich, with the Kronos Quartet and Pat Metheny in their 1988 rendition of Different Trains.
