Winter
Some say winter started on 1 June, some nominate the solstice on June 22, some wait until snow appears on the Brindabellas west of Canberra. First Nations Australians recognize many seasons – often six – with transitions marked by flowering of certain plants, migration of birds, or the retreat of reptiles into hibernation. But it feels like winter.
